Brent has extensive experience in corporate and commercial law and has been involved in numerous transactions involving the purchase and sale of businesses, and mergers and acquisitions. Additionally, Brent has experience in transactions involving corporate reorganizations and amalgamations, commercial lending (including ship’s mortgage documentation), private placements and debt and equity financings, document drafting and negotiation.

Brent is currently enrolled in the second year of the In-Depth Tax Course sponsored by the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants and has negotiated with Canada Revenue Agency on matters involving voluntary disclosure.

Projects Brent has recently been involved with include:
  • Purchaser’s counsel in respect of the purchase of a digital printing business
  • Lender’s counsel in respect of a loan in the amount of up to $5 million to development company
  • Purchaser’s counsel in respect of the purchase of a listening device business
  • Corporate reorganization of a manufacturing company, including the amalgamation of two corporations, preparation of section 85 rollover agreements and a family trust

Outside of the office Brent enjoys spending time with his wife and two young daughters and participating in a variety of activities, including biking, swimming, running and golf.
