Launched in White Rock in 1995 by friends and neighbours Rick Cleveland and Dale Doan, CD LLP began as the culmination of their shared vision to create a community-oriented law firm where clients could obtain legal services of the same quality of a downtown firm without having to leave the Semiahmoo Peninsula.

Dale sadly passed away in 2009, but the resolve to maintain the original vision has only strengthened. “At CD LLP, Dale’s legacy of community engagement is alive and well and his memory serves as a continued source of inspiration to those of us who were lucky enough to know him,” Rick says.

Through the decades, White Rock and South Surrey’s full-service law firm has continued to put clients and community first. “We take pride in building personal and long-lasting relationships with the businesses and individuals with whom we work,” says Rick.

CD LLP now has six lawyers – partners Rick, Shawn Smith and Michael Carter, and associates Grace Cleveland, Alyona Kokanova and Kelly Hodder – as well as a dedicated support staff.

While the combined years of experience at CD LLP are too many to count, summing up what makes the firm stand out in the legal field is easy – they are problem solvers who thoroughly enjoy helping their clients achieve their goals.

With legal services including wills and estates, strata law, real estate law, general litigation, business law, and family law, CD LLP strives to be a one-stop-shop for all of their clients’ legal needs.

Over the years, multiple awards have been bestowed on the firm as a whole – including from the White Rock Business Improvement Association and the South Surrey & White Rock Chamber of Commerce. In addition, CD LLP’s lawyers are widely respected as leaders in their respective practice areas. They are proud to serve the community not only as lawyers, but also as volunteers and staunch supporters of local charitable entities.

“We consider ourselves lucky to live and work in White Rock and South Surrey,” says Rick. “We are so grateful to have had the support of the community for more than 3 decades and we look forward the next 30 years.”
